Professional Development Workshops for Educators

The W. Ross Macdonald Deafblind Resource Services is offering a Two-Day Training Institute:

An Introduction to Deafblindness and Intervention

September 29 & 30, 2010
W. Ross Macdonal School, Brantford

Fee: $50 per day
Deadline for registration is Wednesday, September 22, 2010.

This institute is geared to intervenors, teachers, principals, resource personnel and educational assistants who work in the area of deafblindness. Individual workshops will provide an overview of deafblindness, provide strategies and programming ideas, address the unique needs of individuals who are deafblind, and provide an overview of the philosophy of intervention and the process involved in its delivery. Presentations will include simulations that allow the opportunity to apply the information presented to experiences.

Deafblindness and Intervention Next Steps Workshop on Technology and Communication

November 9, 2010

Fee: $50
Deadline for registration is Tuesday, November 2, 2010.

This workshop is geared to intervenors, teachers, principals, resource personnel and
educational assistants who have experience in the area of deafblindness and need support in more advanced strategies/information to assist with the unique needs of individuals who are deafblind.
