Week of April 12th, 2010

  • Assistive Technology:

    A Trillium student works on a computer program designed to improve working memory. Working memory refers to a brain system that provides temporary storage and manipulation of information necessary for complex cognitive tasks such as language comprehension, learning and reasoning. Students with learning disabilities and / or ADHD often have poor working memory abilities.

  • Learning:

    Mr. Vescio’s grade 9 Math class works to discover the volume of various household and school items. The culminating activity was to ascertain the volume of an ice cream cone – Yum! Thanks Mr. V!

    Ms. Love uses a SMARTBoard and Inspiration to demonstrate to her secondary students how to create a summary of an expository text during a Phast PACES lesson.
