The conference centre serves as the main hub of the school. Allowing for school assemblies, presentations and professional development workshops, the conference centre is fully equipped with a SMART Board, Front Row audio system and provides students and staff with an excellent space for large-group activities.
One of four in the school, this computer lab contains several desktop computers for student use. Designed as teaching labs, Trillium computer rooms are equipped with a SMART Board, scanners and printers and all student desktop computers have access to a wide variety of Assistive Technology programs (e.g., Dragon Naturally Speaking, Kurzweil, Inspiration, etc.)
With language remediation being a major component of Provincial Demonstration School programs, this secondary classroom concept supports the students as they are encouraged to become active participants in literacy skill development. All Trillium classrooms at the secondary level are equipped with SMART Boards and have at least one desktop computer for student use.
Located on the bottom floor of the school, Trillium’s elementary classrooms are organized to encourage small-group and individual skill development. As shown here, all Trillium elementary classrooms have SMART Boards and access to a wide variety of curriculum and support materials.
While staying within the residence, students will be provided with time to relax and unwind. This games room in the West Residence shows many of the opportunities provided for leisure activities such as ping-pong, pool and foosball. All student residences have a room with similar options for student entertainment.
Student dorm rooms are designed for two occupants. Spacious and bright, rooms provide a bed for each individual as well as personal desk, wardrobe and night table. Students may fashion the room according to personal taste upon arrival.
Located on campus, the pool provides an opportunity for students to have an enhanced physical education program. Scheduled outings through the school and residence programs allow students the opportunity to participate in learn-to-swim programs and recreational swims.
While staying on the Trillium campus throughout the week, students attend the cafeteria twice daily for their lunch and dinner (breakfast is served in the residence). The cafeteria staff provides a variety of healthy menu options daily; students are fed meals meeting the requirements of Health Canada’s Food Guide.
