Superintendent's Message

Chery Zinszer, SuperintendentWelcome to the Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf website!

I am pleased to provide you with information regarding the Ontario's Provincial Schools for Students who are Deaf. We are extremely proud of our students, our schools and the quality of programs and support services being offered.

For the students, through the Provincial Schools Branch, Ministry of Education, the Schools for the Deaf provide:

  • American Sign Language (ASL) as the language of instruction;
  • Individual educational plans for all students
  • Residential services and programs for those students living outside the day travel area.

All subject areas follow the Ontario Curriculum.

In the Elementary grades the ASL curriculum has been fully implemented to provide the student with an understanding of their first language (American Sign Language.)

We are committed to helping every student reach his or her full potential.
