November 17, 2010 - 6:30 p.m: School Council Meeting
This will include a brief EQAO information session.
September
September 30: Welcome Back BBQ and School Council Meeting (ECD ELEMENTARY PROGRAM)
Our first School Council meeting for this year will be held on September 30. At that time, SAC will host a welcome back BBQ which starts at 5:30 p.m. School Councils have a unique role to play in bringing parents and schools together in partnership. As parents and community members themselves, School Councils provide an important bridge between school staff and parents. We encourage you to take an active role in the SAC for ECD.
Following this we will host:
“Meet the Teacher/Curriculum Night” - Parents/Guardians only event
This is an informative evening to meet the staff and to learn about grade-specific curriculum for your child’s grade. We will also share with our parents at this time the daily routines and expectations we adhere to at school. So it is a great opportunity to learn about a “day in the life” at ECD Elementary!
5:30 p.m. - Welcome Back BBQ
6:30 p.m. - School Council Meeting
7:00 p.m. - ECD Elementary “Meet the Teacher/Curriculum Night”

March 4, 2010: Grade 8 Transition to High School Parent Information Night - In conjunction with the High school staff. More information will be forthcoming.
March 12 - 19, 2010: March Break - School is closed. School will resume March 22, 2010.

February 1, 2010: Semester two begins
February 1, 2010: International Mother Language Day - We will be celebrating a number of cultures and languages that represent our students and staff.
February 10, 2010: 100th Day of School - Throughout the day, teachers will be incorporating EQAO strategies and Bloom's Taxonomy into activities that incorporate the number 100 in some way.
February 15, 2010: Family Day in Ontario - School is closed
February 23, 2010: Winter Olympic Fun Day - To recognize/celebrate and learn about the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, please ensure that your kids are dressed appropriately as they will be outside for most of the day.
