| Day Treatment ProgramPartners of the PAH!’s Day Treatment Program (DTP): Provincial School Branch (PSB) PAH! (“At last” in ASL) is a Children’s Mental Health program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and youth. PAH! offers a Day Treatment Program (DTP) on the grounds of E.C.Drury School for the Deaf. PAH! serves children and youth when their problems are just beginning, up to and including when they have serious mental health concerns and complex needs. It serves children and youth and their families who live in Halton, Peel, Dufferin-Peel, Wellington and Waterloo (Central West Region) or attend E.C.D. For students who have social, emotional, and behavioural problems that prevent them from learning while attending their local or provincial school, we have a Day Treatment where a teacher and 2 youth workers and assigned counsellor work together in providing individual treatment and education, and through E.C.D. have access to a School Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Speech and Language Consultant, Behavioural Consultant. These students identify, learn and apply a variety of coping tools and strategies to address their mental health concerns through the unique team of professionals. They can stay with the program for a year or more before integrating back to school. Fieldtrips, volunteering, sports, literacy activities and many more are offered to our students. To date, some of our students have been integrated back into E.C.D. Senior School with success. Before entering Day Treatment, they were not able to handle their feelings, thoughts, and behaviour appropriately and they are now integrated full time at Senior school, managing very well. We are proud of them. A critical PAH! principle is to provide service that is culturally responsive and linguistically accessible to our children who are deaf and hard of hearing. Other principles are to strengthen families, children and youth within the flexible Wrap Around supports. It is funded through the Ministry of Child and Youth Services. This service is entirely free. Anybody can make a referral. For more inquiries email Brendag@rockonline.ca
